Communion

Team Leader

Joe Nuccio

Purpose of Ministry

To distribute communion (bread & juice) to the congregation during Sunday service and collect the offering. The team captain is responsible for making sure lesser known areas are covered (cry room, nursery and for worship team), refrigerating the bread & juice afterwards and counting the offering and placing in receptacle in church office.

Ministry Services Needed

We need men to serve communion during service and walk baskets between rows for the offering. Servers may also retrieve communion before service begins, refrigerate bread and juice after communion, set up communion for the worship team, prepare communion if not already done, count money and place in receptacle in church office.

Time Commitment

Preparing the trays before the services takes 10-15 minutes. Communion during the service takes 5-7 minutes. Clean up and counting the offering takes 10-15 minutes.

Additional Comments

Prior to service, servers must check to make sure the trays are ready and bring communion trays to the counter in the front foyer, making sure the team is lined up and ready to go. After it is served, any extra bread and juice is refrigerated. We must also make sure plastic bags and count sheets are in the front foyer for the offering. Most, if not all, of these tasks are the responsibility of the team captain but everyone that serves communion should be aware of these practices.

Monthly Memory Verse

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
